The Regis College Pool

Picture
At the Streamline Swim Clinic we intentionally keep the pool warmer that most pools, maintaining a temperature of between 80 and 81 degrees. While cooler water is ideal for competition and training (77-78 degrees), warmer water is more ideal for technique oriented swimming.  When the focus is on technique instead of yards, the swimmers do not generate as much body heat as they would when swimming laps. The small difference in water can make a big difference in a child’s core temperature which can make a difference between a comfortable swimmer and a swimmer who shivers for most of the day. The warmer pool is ideal for children who tend to get cold while swimming.
